Adaptive Leadership Workshop

On December 2nd, 2019, the Institute of Happiness organised its first workshop in collaboration with Mr. Dennis Schroeder from Germany who was recently a professor at Royal Thimphu College (RTC), Bhutan. Titled “Adaptive Leadership,” the workshop aimed to enhance the leadership skills required to govern public services using strategies studied at Harvard Kennedy School, where Mr. Schroeder earned his Master of Public Administration in 2017.

Eleven individuals in leadership roles from various backgrounds attended the event. They were from DGPC, State Trading Corporation of Bhutan, Ministry of Works and Human Settlement, CAB and DHI officials.

Engaging in group activities, they learned to apply action strategies such as mobilizing responsibility across boundaries, managing economies of attention, generating innovation, and building a culture of adaptability for the long-term. This workshop allowed its participants to view leaders and themselves in a new perspective, and to consider innovative solutions to complications in professional work settings.
